Robert was born and raised in the family business of the horse racing industry.  The business was owned and operated on the family farm in Albany for 17 years.  After his father retired from racing horses, Robert continued to be involved with horses, breaking and training them for western pleasure and trail riding disciplines.  Today Robert still enjoys breeding, training and racing Quarter Horses and Thoroughbreds as a hobby.

Mary started her career on the East Coast with formal instruction in 1969.  A former member of two U.S. Pony Clubs, she acquired her "B" rating in 1974.  Mary showed horses extensively on the East Coast in Dressage, Eventing and Hunter/Jumpers.  After college, she continued successfully on her own as a professional free-lance Riding Instructor and Trainer, co-founding a U.S. Pony Club in Pennsylvannia, organized and promoted summer camps, horse shows and clinics, plus served as a volunteer instructor for a handicapped riding program, a high school equestrian team and a 4-H club.

In 1994, she graduated from Meredith Manor International Equestrian Center as a Certified Riding Master and Instructor.  Relocating to Roseburg, Oregon, Mary became actively involved with the horse community, offering instruction, training, clinics and summer day camps.  In 1998, Robert and Mary moved back to the Holifield family homestead to set up a new horse facility and in 1999, began offering boarding, lessons and training programs.

In 2003, they hosted two Hunter/Jumper schooling shows and hosted four Oregon Horsemen's Association approved shows in 2004.

Their primary focus now is offering quality full care boarding and riding lessons, trail riding (on the coast and in the mountains) and showing.
